Happy Valentine’s Day!!
Think back to hanging a box on the front of your school desk and waiting in anticipation for that cute boy or girl to drop one in. Remember the surprise and thrill when it happened?! Create a Valentine’s day box, just like the ones we had in grade school, and fill it up with a little valentine every day for a week leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Send her Not your normal bouquet of roses! Beginning with 11 days before Valentine’s Day, bring her a rose every day until Valentine’s Day. 11 roses means that she is the most treasured and loved person in your life! And, you can play with the colors. Red means “I love you”. Lavender means “love at first sight”. Orange means “passionate desire”. White means “a pure love” and Pink means “thank you”. I would suggest giving red roses every day for 7 days telling her you love her and perhaps be more specific each time. Then begin to add in the colors because she is your everything! Tell her what the color means when you hand it to her. “Pink means thank you and I want to thank you for being the most amazing wife to me”….
1/2 bag of choc chips, microwave for 30 sec intervals until just beginning to melt.
Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of heavy cream.
Continue to microwave until a nice creamy consistency.
If you add the heavy cream it will keep the chocolate softer longer.
Cut up to bite size: strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmellows and/or pound cake, or whatever you like dunked in chocolate!
Pour chocolate into a bowl and place on large platter. Surround chocolate with dunking pieces.
Play a game: “Favorites” Take turns dunking a piece into chocolate and ask “what’s my favorite……?” color, pet name, movie, etc. If he gets it right, he gets the chocolate. If he gets it wrong, you get to eat it. Take turns until all the chocolate is gone. Of course you could make this game a bit more intimate…. if he gets it wrong, you get the chocolate and he has to take a piece off… (use imagination here). Enjoy!
Publically declare your love – over loud speaker in Walmart, at the ball field, at a hockey game, in a restaurant.. Use your imagination to say I love you and say it loudly!
Picture Fun

Using about 10 sheets of poster board, present him/her with a message she’ll never forget! “Remember when we first met?” “this is how you have changed my life” etc. Tell him/her how you feel by putting 3 or 4 words on each board.

Picnic Fun Romantic Dinner Idea
Pack a romantic meal of wine, cheese, grapes…blanket, tunes to slow dance to….and enjoy a picnic together.
Wine & Dine Her at home Include her favorites or if you want to try some wonderful recipes combining romance and food check out www.seductionmeals.com, www.thefairkingdom.com or my favorite so far from Frugal Foodie at http://www.mint.com/blog/saving/romantic-meals-for-10-dollars-or-less-02092011/. Create the romantic atmosphere with candles, pretty dishes, cloth napkins, personalized place card with an endearing pet name or “my beautiful wife”, champagne or a nice bottle of wine (non-alcoholic variety is just as good or Sprite in fancy glasses), dress up and put on some music and escort her in and pull out her chair and serve her. Cooking not your thing? That’s ok, cheat! Try a service like Just Dine In or Black Tie Catering or put that favorite take out on those pretty dishes and throw the Styrofoam away before she gets there! Just smile when she says how absolutely wonderful it is! She will be thrilled that you took the time to set it up and as you stare lovingly in each other’s eyes the food will be the last thing on your minds! When dinner is over, allow her to enjoy the last remnants of the meal while you clean up. She’ll probably take the opportunity to tell you how fabulous you are! Give her the floor and listen to whatever she has to say. When you’re all finished tidying up, take her by the hand and ask her to dance. Enjoy the rest of the evening, she will be all yours!
Write her a love letter, describe how she makes you feel.
